Student Organizations
Student organizations are a great way to connect and stay connected at CIU. Make your voice heard while representing your classmates on the Student Senate. Meet regularly with students of similar backgrounds. Express yourself in our literary and news publications, or just help organize a party for everyone! Stay current with the campus life activities calendar.
Ways to Get Involved
Here are some options offered at our university:
Adventure Club — Enjoy rock climbing, backpacking, tubing, kayaking and learning new outdoor skills by joining the Adventure Club. It’s a great way to spend time with friends in an outdoor setting.
Rambler — The Rambler is the CIU student newspaper publishing student articles on life at CIU, world news and perspectives on the Christian life.
Thespians — You don’t have to be an actor to be a member of the Thespians. Monthly meetings are filled with games, acting exercises, ticket giveaways and movie nights! The Thespians also perform one stage show, and one 1 Act Play Festival every semester. If you are not an actor, there are also opportunities for construction, directing, writing and more.
International Student Association (ISA) — The ISA brings together international students for fellowship and relationship building, as they seek God while striving for success in the classroom, laying a foundation for college life and beyond.
African American Student Association (AASA) — The mission of the African American Student Association is to encourage, empower, enlighten, embolden and enrich the African-American student body. Then AASA also provides all CIU students with the opportunity to minister spiritually, educationally and culturally to the African-American communities in the ºÚÁÏÊÓƵ area.ÌýÌý
MuKappa — Serves and provides a place for Missionary Kids (MKs) and Third Culture Kids (TCK) to hang out and feel at home. A variety of events are planned each year, but fostering a day-to-day community for MKs and TCKs, including military kids, is the goal. ciu.mukappa@gmail.com
The Grad Life Council (GLC) creates fellowship opportunities for CIU’s graduate and seminary students, as well as faculty and staff. GLC activities include lunches, evening snacks, monthly Grad Chapels, and other community events.
