The Class of 2020 – unique in CIU history
Members of the Class of 2020: Laura Camplejohn and Andrew McNeill
They will likely be considered the CIU class to graduate under the most unique set of circumstances in the school’s nearly 100-year history. The last time the Class of 2020 saw each other face-to-face was before spring break of their final semester. Then the Covid-19 pandemic came to the United States, and like many students all over the world, the CIU Class of 2020 would end their studies through online learning.
They never said the usual good-byes after finals, but, in a video, seniors Andrew McNeill (class president), David Elliott, Hannah Wegren, Caleb Joung, Laura Camplejohn and Kayla Washington make up for it with a heartfelt message to their class, and a little advice for those who come behind them. .
The good news is that a commencement ceremony is planned for Aug. 15.
